Why does this project arise and what is its objective?

 

The idea of ​​generating a system for a transport vehicle to be mobilized autonomously on a lane was raised by Professor Víctor Romero Cano and Juan Carlos Perafan to see the importance and necessity that this system currently entails, also because it has been It has been observed that in the automobile industry it is beginning to implement automatic braking systems and detection of vehicles in the surroundings, on the other hand, this topic is addressed because so far in the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente had not been taken into account any type of project oriented to autonomous cars.


Now, as we have the support and knowledge of the professors, we are looking to develop functional prototypes of autonomous vehicles that allow us to evaluate and prove this research in an area close to reality, such as city cars.


Project description


During the investigation of the project, the detection and monitoring of the road line is evaluated by means of a camera installed in a car.


In addition to this, the autonomous system platform will be implemented with the research of the autonomous landing system to serve as support and expand the field of research, since what is planned to be done is that the drone called "chimuelo" land on the autonomous robot while This makes its way.
